o   President (Ann) signs all contracts – fully signed original back to Ann and copy to stay with chair

o   Binders – try to keep updated

o   Bulletin board - try to post and take down information for your events

o   Distribution goes to youngest & onlies again  

o   Event? 

§  Use Tax Exempt letter for supplies.

§  Flyers must say “PTA”.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

§  Publicize event – use Publicity Chair, newsletter, bulletin board, website, flyer.

§  Request that $$ be submitted in a labeled envelope.

§  Have money payable to vendor (school spirit, book fair).

§  Work with Volunteer Chairs.

§  Check in PTA mailbox (hanging folder) in back of main office.

§  Follow up event with survey

PTA Board Meeting

August 14, 2008

Call to order at 7:10pm

Balance on Hand:  $5201.08

*New playground equipment & picnic table

*New sidewalk by Kindergarten exit door

*Level playground & seeded

*Next school year will work on improving Lincoln’s entrance

*PTA assigned new workroom across from teacher’s lounge

*New Staff & Staff Changes:

            *Kindergarten AM – Lora Claunch

            *2nd grade Bilingual – Juan Carlos Domecqu

            *5th grade – Melissa LoCascio

            *LRC –Jeanne Marino

            *Kim Dondalski moved to 3rd grade (3rd grade now at 5 sections)

*District 15 changes:

*Students no longer may bring in edible birthday treats, letter to go out next week

*PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) – System that has children understand the expectations in every area of the school and how to reverse negative behaviors.

            *Teachers went to trainings this summer

            *Established 3 Teams: Green, Yellow & Red

*Green Team – Consists of both teachers & parents.  Looking for volunteer parents to help plan PBIS celebrations.  Contact Christie Samojedney if interested.

                        *Yellow Team – Intervention system

                        *Red Team – Top 5% of school body, need intense attention

*NEU – Candy grams raised enough money to purchase NEU t-shirts for every student & teacher to wear on Mondays.

            *Thank you to Sam Senner for helping make this possible!

*NEU Logos were painted on Lincoln walls by Ms. Irsay, Mrs. Kohl, Ms. Langsfeld, and Mrs. Seiwert.  THANK YOU for your many hours of hard work!

*Every classroom will adopt a college or university.  Looking for parents to donate flags from college/universities.

                        *Cultural Arts – First assembly will be Gabe & Izzy and will cost between $1,300 -$1,800. NWSC & District 15 Foundation may pay for may help with some of the expenses.
