A Bit About PTA

Our Lincoln School PTA is proud to be part of the National PTA, which is the largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the United States.  As a non-profit association of parents, educators, students and other citizens active in our schools and communities, PTA is a leader in reminding our nation of its obligations to children.  We support the mission and objects of the National PTA each day in the things we do.   Check out the link to their website for further information.

We are also a part of the Illinois PTA, which works with and serves on many committees on the Illinois State Board of Education, cooperating agencies in the fields of health, safety, environmental concerns, juvenile protection, cultural arts, community outreach and other governmental bodies.  The Illinois PTA has a membership of 200,000 members and is a strong voice for the advocacy of children and youth in our state.

Lincoln School PTA is a part of District 37, which is that portion of the Illinois PTA located outside the city limits of Chicago encompassing Elk Grove, Palatine, Schaumburg, Wheeling, and Barrington Townships, plus that part of Lake County, which lies within the Barrington Elementary School District.  In short, PTA District 37 currently consists of 65 local units in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.

We are also part of the Northwest Suburban Council (NWSC) of PTAs.  NWSC consists of 20 local PTA/PTSA member units, one representing each of the Community Consolidated School District 15 schools. The council is a coordinating body which promotes communication and cooperation among member units and increases capacity for service requests because of our united strength.
